Regular readers will know that much like my Chanel addiction, I sometimes have an unhealthy appetite for all things Mulberry. Whereas Chanel is a symbol of my constant daydreams of Paris and the Gallic je ne sais quois, Mulberry, the iconic British brand, neatly sums up my love of the English countryside in the summer, of London in the rain, of nostalgic childhood stories of woodland creatures and faraway lands, and of English whimsy and craftsmanship.
And because my Mulberry love has reached new heights of late, I’m declaring May to be Mulmerry (Mulberry = merriment) Month here on A Girl, A Style (don’t worry, I will talk about other things too).
In Part 1, I introduce my Tillie satchel in chestnut silky snake – isn’t she lovely? I actually got this the day it was released back in February, on the first day of Fashion Week (where it was the bag du jour, swinging from the arm if every fashion editor worth her salt). But I’ve only really brought her out the past few weeks – she’s far too pretty to get caught in a London downpour! Deliciously slouchy and roomy, it fits all the things I like to cart around with me, without looking lumbersome. And isn’t the chain strap and gold trompe l’oeil buckle detailing just adorable?
Which is the brand that most sums up your favourite place?
Love, Miss B xx

I truly love her! When the snake Mulberry Tillie first came out I wasn’t sure but now I’m a total convert. Love that May is Mulberry month over at yours – for me it’s Michael Kors month. His pieces sum up everything I love about New York. Oh… and I may have mentioned that I get my hands on my bag on my birthday this month….. 😉 xxx

Oh I think you just described exactly why I love Mulberry so much. It’s so classic, so chic and so ENGLISH 🙂
Your Tillie is absolutely divine btw. x

I am 100% with you on the Mulberry thing.

She is such a pretty girl, your Tillie baby. I have a very soft spot for Mulberry bags, too. Love their classic shapes, leather and how cuddly they feel (the latter applies for my treasured and loved Ledbury, which, ironically, was purchased in Paris… don’t ask…) And then I dream of Chanel 2.55 and Bottega, love Fendi peek-a-boo in tan while carrying my life around in Michael Kors jet set tote (very little bling and loads of room).

Mulberry is the one bag designer that I’m obsessed with! As much as I love my Alexa, I love the Tillie so much. I’m strangely attracted to the denim one though…

I adore the Alexa too (really wanted the oak leopard but alas, it was sold out in a flash before I even knew I wanted it). And the denim is really cute! This one just worked better for me though, mostly because I wear jeans all the time and a denim bag might be a bit much.

I love Mulberry. I wish I had enough money for a Tillie as well. I’m not sure what colour I would want though
