Shoe-lust in Liberty and Selfridges. Shakespeare in the college gardens in Cambridge. Lazing on the banks of the River Cam and watching the punts drift by.
Combating rainy spring days the best way I know how: with cheering colours and treats to make me smile. Cornflower blue Hunter wellingtons and yellow tulips on a grey day. Cupcakes from Primrose Bakery and the pastel-coloured houses of Primrose Hill. Walks on Hampstead Heath for the best views over London with my friends Dearne, Amanda and Jessie. Diptyque‘s jonquil-scented candle making my whole house smell like spring. Afternoon tea dates for one (dining solo somehow feels so decadently indulgent and grown-up) at Laduree. Revealing just what I tote around inside my handbag each day (here and here). Sparkling every day.

Beautiful Chanel Gardenia perfume for when I need to feel sophisticated (but still ‘me’). My beloved blush Mulberry Lily bag accompanying me on so many summertime adventures. The most wonderful staircase (I am definitely copying this idea when I finally buy a place of my own) at Opening Ceremony’s new London store. Treasure hunting vintage jewels from all over the place – always. Green carnations and lilac hydrangeas in every room of me house. Afternoons spent reading Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Floral masks and midnight masquerade balls in the woods. Spending the weekend in a charming country B&B with views over the chocolate box-perfect town square. Drives through the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. Wearing white lace dresses and wavy hair. Evenings spent lazing on the banks of the River Cam (my happy place) as punt drift on by.
Lunch breaks on the terrace overlooking the Thames at the Palace of Westminster. Sunday trips to Richmond. Acting like a small child in a candy shop at Chanel’s popup beauty store in Covent Garden. Walks around redbrick mansion-lined streets in the rain and afternoon tea at The Marylebone with Lucy and Helen as summery thunderstorms raged outside. Taking a break from the office in the rose gardens of Westminster Abbey. Shoes, glorious shoes at Jimmy Choo HQ. A trip to the theatre with the Clever Boyfriend (and that magical moment when the lights dim and the orchestra strikes up). Continuing my list of ’30 Things to do Before I’m 30′ and embracing the pure opulence of a Cambridge May Ball (tuxedos and silk dresses, new shoes, fireworks, dancing and champagne until dawn). Exploring the mansion-lined streets of Maida Vale and the canals of Little Venice with Dearne and Anna. Strawberry cocktails on the waterways at The Summerhouse. Being reunited with my favourite fashion gal pal Nicolette for a week of adventures all over London. Back to back afternoon tea at Laduree with Laetitia, Charlotte and my favourite PR girls. My first trip to Wimbledon for strawberries and cream and terrific tennis. A trip to Hampshire for quality time in the countryside with Amanda.
Wishing you all a delightful July!
Love, Miss B xx
