Things have been a bit hectic and stressed the past couple of weeks, so this weekend I made a point of doing nothing but being divinely lazy. Yesterday, I caught up with a good friend for cafe-hopping along Westbourne Grove and Ledbury Road (Ottolenghi makes me a little bit excited), a rummage along Portobello Market, and then a trip up to Primrose Hill for the most breathtaking views of London. I’d never been before, but I can see why the “Primrose Set” (Jude Law, Kate Moss, Jamie Oliver, et. al.) guard it ferociously.
Today, I could think of nothing lovelier than to laze beside the river and just absorb the mood-boosting Cambridge sunshine. There’s something so magical about Cambridge in the Spring/Summer, which at the moment looks like this:
Despite the influx of tourists, I always know where to find a spot so gorgeous and peaceful it’s as though it was made just for me to enjoy. In this instance, the Clever Boyfriend and I put together a gourmand picnic, and settled under a giant shady tree beside the river for several blissful hours of reading, lazily gazing up at the blue sky, napping (him), picking giant bunches of wildflowers (me) and just being. We were even visited by a happy little family of geese who played beside us for a time being so generally cute, it was all I could do not to squeel at them in delight! Just try looking at this and not smiling…
How did you fill your lovely weekend?
Love, Miss B xx

Cambridge looks beautiful at this time of the year. I would love to know the location of your secret hideaway… but then it wouldn’t be so secret! x

Do you study there? I have somewhat of an obsession with this heaven on earth that cannot quite be shaped into a sentence. If only they did Art as a subject :'(

Although I live in Cambridge, I actually work in London (my boyfriend is however doing his PhD at Cambridge, so I get to live vicariously through his student life here (minus the essay deadlines), which is nearly as good. It is possibly one of the nicest places in the world to live!
