I remember my first nail polish distinctly: It was a chalky pastel sky blue polish, $2 from the pharmacy – probably completely horrid to everyone else, yet I still insisted on wearing it everywhere at the tender age of 11.
They say if one can remember a trend the first time around, then they should never wear it in it’s subsequent incarnations. Although I think we can bend these rules when it comes to beauty (after all, while fashion is seemingly limitless, there are only so many ways one can paint colour on their face). Besides, rules are for the boring and unadventurous.
Well, leave it to Chanel to make the horrid chalky pastel colours of my youth utterly desirable (and wearable) in the form of Nouvelle Vague. Every time I see this colour on someone, it looks so beautiful and fun, like a mermaid who washed up on Coney Island.
And only for Chanel would I hunt all of London for a bottle of nail polish like a complete lunatic.
Anyone know where I can find a precious bottle anywhere?
What do you think of the concept of cult beauty products? Completely absurd or an affordable way to buy into a luxury brand that might otherwise be beyond our reach?
Love, Miss B xx

OOoh gorgeous! I’ll look for it here and I’ll let you know if they have some. I’m hopelessly addicted to Chanel nail polishes and I try to get them duty free but sometimes that way I miss out 🙁
Oh and thankyou for your kind offer of things from the states. Likewise if there’s anything that you want from here! 🙂 x

I love that colour and I have to get it…somehow! With some stuff I am willing to pay the prize…like the nail polish but I use very cheap face wash because it really works for me…So I guess it depends on the product…Kisses my lovely and enjoy your day

I think luxe beauty brands are a fun way to indulge and treat yourself without completely going overboard! And when it’s the hot color of the summer, how could you not search high and low for this bottle of polish?!

This is such a gorgeous colour! I love spotting it on people in the knows nails.
I quite like the idea of cult beauty products, like when I managed to get my hands on Maybelline’s ‘Full ‘n Soft’ mascara that I first tried in my early teens when I stole it from my Mum and wasn’t able to find ANYWHERE because they dicontinued it (why, I don’t know, it’s amazing). But I hate it when people start wanting things because there’s a waiting list – like the whole Jade colour by Chanel which, because everyone in the world wanted it, I ended up hating it.

I’m afraid I’m a complete sucker for this cult beauty product concept (surprise!!) … and so want some Chanel Nouvelle Vague. Especially as I have a tendency towards vagueness at the moment! Hope you find some.. and if you do, snaffle a bottle for me and I’ll send you the money! xx
