Marc Jacobs heels, J Brand skinny jeans (courtesy of Net-a-Porter), perspex bangle and silver charm bracelet both Mimco
A bit like my thing for lip motifs (that I wrote about here), occasionally I have a strange liking for things that shouldn’t work, but somehow do. For summer, I’m loving crystal clear perspex in the form of accessories and accents.
Along with a beloved perspex and crystal bangle from Mimco, I’ve been wearing these clear Marc by Marc Jacobs heels on high rotation of late. I call them my Cindarella heels – don’t they look like pretty glass slippers (Cindarella would have certainly preferred these, I’m sure…).
L-R: Fendi clutch and heels, Prada bag
However as these shoes demonstrate, perspex hides nothing and therefore calls for impeccable grooming – I never wear these unless my pedicure is immaculate. Similarly, a perspex chair or lamp requires constant dusting, while a transparent bag calls for an ordered selection of pretty contents – no shoving of old receipts and tissues into such a purse.
What do you make of this look? Fabulous plastic-fantastic, or too horrible for words?
Love, Miss B xx

Hey B!
Loving your posts, I haven’t had time to sit down and read through the magnificent streams of posts you’ve entered, as of late because of my post-grad exams but I’m glad I set some time aside to do so!!!
PS I can’t believe you and I both share a love of doodling with artline pens! AMAZING!
PPS. I’ll keep you posted on a website sponsored competition I’ll be running soon on my blog… *excitement screams* I know!
As for the MJs, I do love them but my fear is that aside from pristine grooming, there’s the sweat factor, especially in summer : but then again with any closed toe shoe in summer you’re bound to find that…
I do love them on you though especially with the black vernis polish!
🙂

Thank you precious, that means a lot from you – your blog is looking lovely of late too!
I’ve been doodling all over the place lately – I don’t sketch with a pencil first, I just go straight to the inky pen. It’s good for the creative juices 😉
And you’re right the sweat factor is definitely a concern. I have to make sure my feet are nice and cool before I put them on, and tend to wear them more in the office than for walking great distances so it’s fine.

Like you I am not American but feel a big piece of my heart belongs across the Atlantic – I think it’s an amazing country. And you know I constantly obsess about NYC so I’m right there with you Lady! Winter in the city and summer in the Hamptons… now you’re talking! If I had to name just two, my fave Americans are Barack Obama and Sarah Jessica Parker, (possibly not the same taste in shoes there!) xxx
