Life seems to have been so hectic lately (usually in a good way) that my idea of a blissful weekend evening now involves doing as little as possible. Translation: I’d more often than not rather stay in than be out indulging in cocktail-fuelled dancing. Does this make me officially old and duller than dull?
Regardless, my idea of a blissful Sunday evening involves making a delicious supper and perhaps a cocktail or two, putting on some jazz, and running an enormous jasmine-scented bath overflowing with frothy bubbles, rose petals, and enough potions and lotions to sink the titanic. After that, the blissful nesting is completed with a pot of Morrocan mint tea, a room full of candles and climbing into an enormous bed for some embarrasingly unintellectual reading until slumber takes over. Is it just me or is heaven a giant pile of fluffy pillows and Egyptian cotton sheets still with that freshly sundried smell? A spritz of perfume on the pillow and I’m done.
L-R: Agent Provocateur slip, Dolfin Earl Grey tea chocolate, Molton Brown mulberry hand balm, Aesop tuberose lip balm, candle from Liberty, The Passionate Shopper and the Goddess Experience (both have excellent tips about blissful things to do in London)
Please tell me I’m not officially in dullsville and that it’s normal to look forward to rare, yet blissfully lazy evenings?
Love, Miss B xx

Such extraordinary bliss…
It may simply be a case of getting older, but the time I once spent spinning under disco balls is now dedicated to similarly decadent and pampering treats.
Vogue, Diptyque candles, a deliciously long soak in REN’s Moroccan Rose Otto bath oil, and La Mer body creme are my own ingredients for nirvana.
Though at times like this, when life – namely work, insomnia, house-hunting, puppies and the blog – seems to pull in a million directions, I would feel indulged simply to find time for a brisk shower!

P.S: A long (long, long) overdue email will be headed your way this week.

My dear,
although my boyfriend dislikes it, your idea of bliss is the same as mine : a night where self-pampering and a small detox is combined.
Don’t feel bad and keep enjoying these while you still can!

Darling you are definitely not dull! In fact everything in your picture just looks divine and just what I’d love too! 😀 I just bought this delicious Voluspa candle in macaron flavour too!

No you’re not in dullsville at all… I would say you are in chicville! Sounds like utter heaven to me – and I do like your new blog theme by the way. That clutch that you enquired after on Wardrobe Watch by the way is by Sondra Roberts – the lovely Simone commented on it on the same post as you! Great fashion minds! xxx

that sounds relaxing to me, i wouldn’t mind it anytime of the day:) btw, is the Aesop tuberose lip balm any good? i’ve been tryin to look for a good lip balm for ages! thx
agirlastyle says
Thank you Cinz! Yes, the Aesop lip balm is gorgeous (it’s actually more of a lip treatment I slather on every night and wake up with perfect lips). For day, Kiehls do a really good balm (I love their version for babies as it’s free of sunscreen and unecessary chemicals). It’s one of the hardest things to find isn’t it? Lip balm, jeans and foundation!

I love The Goddess Guide – it looks so pretty on a bedside table too. You should try The Goddess Experience, it’s fab too.
