After paying a visit to Carrie Bradshaw’s house in Greenwich Village last week (yes, I know she’s not an actual person and yes, I do realise this makes me the epitome of an embarrassing tourist…)*, I’ve come over all Carrie and can’t stop thinking about shoes!
Although I already posses a shoe wardrobe of slightly ridiculous proportions, I want more! Yes – a greedy longing for yet more shoes I can’t even walk in. And while all the best shoes are entirely impractical, doesn’t it make life a little more fun to look down and see you’re walking through the day sporting spectacular art for your feet?
Doing what I usually do when procrastinating about one thing or another, I hopped on to Net-a-Porter and channelled the fabulous Ms Bradshaw. If I lived in this house, this is what I would be buying this week.
L-R: For dinner with Big (Miu Miu), for cocktails with the girls (Alaia), for a walk around the Village and a browse in the NY Public Library (Isabel Marant)
So tell me, do you constantly buy shoes that are impossibly beautiful, but also impossible to run around town in (and therefore, end up having to change into flats)?
Love, Miss B xx
* Apologies to whoever the real-life owners of this house are (but what do you expect, living in Carrie’s house?) – I just couldn’t help myself!

The Alaia ones are GORGEOUS!
I do not constantly buy gorgeous, tall shoes. 1, I’m too picky of a walker, and 2, I can’t spend the money! It’s unfortunate, but it’s how it is!

Haha I feel like you were definitely aiming that question at me. I certainly do-far too often! 😛 I didn’t realise that Carrie’s place was an actual place. How exciting!

i have a pair of Mollinis similar to the Alaia pair! sooo pretty!
I’m personally dying for a pair of YSL Tributes… still.. I know… but what can I say… knock offs will never do! Although some Louboutin court shoes would make me smile – permanently. 🙂

I love the Isabel Marant’s in black!
I enjoy looking at beautiful/crazy shoes, but in real life, I’m more of a Converse/Repetto girl to be honest.

Haha, i’m glad i’m not one of those girls who wear impossibly beautiful shoes that are impossible to walk in. On the other hand, I always bring an extra pair of flats in my bag because i’m AFRAID that my precious shoes will get stained or in case it suddenly rains. haha!

Yup! I have three pairs that I have come to realise I can never wear so they live on my mantelpiece and a shelves….but they are so beautiful! xx

I just don’t understand how New York women can wear those fabulous painful shoes all day. It’s just a whole other commitment to style we LA girls don’t have.
