Kate Lanphear (US Elle) and her Christian Louboutins
I’m not sure what it is exactly, but it turns out I become a shoe paparazzi come Fashion Week. When street style photographers were madly snapping away at Vogue editors and posing bloggers, I was instead mostly distracted by the amazing footwear on parade (usually the first thing I notice about someone’s ensemble).

While I usually felt too impolite to blatantly snap photos with/of my favourite editors and front-rowers, it somehow seemed entirely acceptable to photograph someone’s accessories. Indeed I can’t bear posing for photographs myself, but my feet on the other hand are always happy to oblige.

It is also worth noting that people outfits are often more restrained and classic that one might imagine (with the obvious exception of the always fabulous Anna Dello Russo, et. al.). While the chic fashion pack could commonly be found in a restrained palette of slim black trousers, silk blouses and camel coats, they always go all out with the footwear.

Classic brogues by Church’s
The key footwear trends of the week included: socks with heels (this serves a double purpose: 1) makes any pair of shoes instantly more comfortable, 2) lends a cute nonchalance to an otherwise OTT pair); fabulous heels by Charlotte Olympia and Nicholas Kirkwood (on more front row feet and in more shows than I could count); ladylike pumps with pointy toes and low heels by Isabel Marant and Prada; and for when feet need a break, classic flat Church’s brogues and studded slippers by Louboutin.

to be honest, your shoes are the best of the lot! i also love the charlotte olympias though, if only they weren’t very expensive i would be wearing a pair of them right now!

the same thing happended to me with the shoes, I feel so strange asking complete strangers to take photos of their outfits (even though it was LFW and they were probably expecting it) but every second I was pulling out my camera and sanpping, shoes, rings, bags, there was so many to choose from. x
