Hello lovelies, and welcome to 2011! How did you all spend your New Year’s Eve/Day? As my flight from Australia was delayed by two days, I didn’t arrive back in the UK until yesterday morning. An inability to sleep on planes combined with a 32 hour journey rendered me utterly jetlagged and so, no matter how hard we tried to stay awake, the Clever Boyfriend and I were fast asleep by 10pm and effectively missed the entire event. Oops…
Geriatric partying aside, I love the cause for celebration of the year’s events that the dawning of a new year brings, as well as the urge to pause for thought and reflect upon how far we have come in a year. Personally, 2010 has been an extraordinary year. Minus a few bumps along the way (career soul-searching, the theft of my beloved Chanel 2.55, and being separated from dear friends by several oceans), it has been one of the most wonderful years of my life. I have a wonderful boyfriend and friends I adore; I’ve fed my insatiable travel bug with journeys to Morocco, Bath, Oxford, USA and most recently, Australia; I get to feed my love of beautiful things, museums, afternoon tea and couture in London, and awe-inspiring Hogwarts-esque architecture and history in Cambridge (both places feel like a realm of never-ending possibilities and adventures just waiting to be had); I have an intellectually stimulating job (complete with an office in one of the most breathtaking buildings in all the world), and what feels like a world of possibilities in 2011.
On a more relevant note, I decided to start this blog in February of this year – mostly as a creative outlet for my miscellaneous dreamings and as a means to catalogue some of the beautiful things I was exploring and indulging in since moving to the other side of the world, but also to encourage me to continue to pursue such things and to connect with like-minded people. I never could have imagined it would lead to such wonderful opportunities as a result. For example, I’ve met some truly wonderful new friends, designers (Manolo Blahnik, John Galliano, Lulu Guinness, Emma Hill of Mulberry, Matthew Williamson, et al) and generally lovely and inspiring people, and attended London Fashion Week where I got to sit at the shows of designers I’d previously poured over in the pages of Vogue. But most of all, I am grateful for each and every one of you who reads my miscellaneous ramblings, who leave me delightful comments and send my lovely emails which truly brighten my day, and who share my pursuit of daily bliss in life. Without each of you, this blog would be nothing but a conversation with myself.
So here’s to a fantabulous, joyous, beautiful and adventurous New Year!
What were the highlights of 2010 for you?
Love, Miss B xx

Highlights– meeting you!
And also interning in the Capitol, meeting JL, a degree, fun in Australia and NZ and just general amazing experiences which I never thought the year would bring. A fab way to end the decade!

Also – growing up, my internship where I get to write and write and write about things like skirt lengths and the new accessories (hello! celine!), my first designer bag purchase, planning my trip overseas and turning 20.
