Regular readers may recognise this Lulu Guinness clutch from a former post on here when talking about my ridiculous urges for lip-shaped accessories. Well, at a loss as to what to get me for Christmas, I told the Clever Boyfriend he could get me “a bag” I wanted. He agreed, I placed the order, and he paid the bill.* To say it was not what he was expecting when it arrived is putting it politely (I may have been vague about certain details: “bright fuschia metallic snakeskin”, “shaped like a pair of lips”, “can only hold a phone, a single key and a lipstick”, that sort of thing…). In fact, I distinctly recall him laughing out loud. But he’s used to me by now, and he’s come to accept that occasionally I will take to carrying around a handbag that a man will never look at and understand.
While I fully accept that these lips in the form of a handbag are so kitch they’re bordering on the blatantly ridiculous, that’s exactly why I love them. In my wardrobe heavily dominated by various shades of black, they add a much-welcomed pop of colour (I am by now SO sick of winter that all I’m craving is vibrant shots of pink). And honestly, what’s the point of loving fashion if we can’t have a little fun in the process? After all, it’s only clothes – not neurosurgery – and such fancies should be approached with a measure of humour from time to time.
While we’re on the subject of (sartorial) kisses, I want to wish all my truly wonderful readers a very happy St Valentines Day. While I don’t buy into the whole commercialism which this day attracts, I do believe in the importance of a life filled with love. Whatever your status, it serves as a reminder to show those we treasure just how much we love them, as well as to treat ourselves with love. So please remember to make moments for love – whether it be an unexpected kiss to your loved one, a hand written ‘reasons I love you’ letter to your best friend, or an entire day spent only with yourself doing the things you love.
And with that, I send each and every one of you an abundance of love, happiness and kisses (in the form of designer clutch bags, naturellement!). Thank you for all the joy you bring me!
Love, Miss B xx
* Romantics may recoil at the nature of our present buying, but truth be told, we’re always much happier when we think of something we’d love to receive from each other, and hand over our respective wish lists.

This is the best way to “get”presents. Although I do love surprise, when buying things like this, man can rarely get it right. So if money is gonna be spent, better to be spent on something that you’ll LOOOOVE.
Gorgeous bag… I can just imagine all the outfits with her and I have to tell you it is highely wearable. 🙂

Hehe well I think they’re gorgeous. In fact I kept a big pair of gold Fauchon lips for a purpose that is still not apparent to me apart from their fabulousness! 😀 xxx

I am in a believer in the list. Everyone’s taste is not the same and even though most gifts are given with the purest of intentions. Sometimes the receiver winds up with crap/stuff you never use/stuff you wonder how the hell am I going to use this. lol
