Happy Friday! This week seemed to fly by in a busy blur (seriously, how are we halfway through August?), but I managed to squeeze in a few fun things – lunch with some lovely friends, a divine Chantecaille facial at Fenwick after work, and ice cream at the Parlour at Fortnum & Mason (where I always feel like a child, in the best possible way). And I’m excited to be heading to the Norfolk coast after work tonight for a weekend away with our friends. We’re glamping (wish me luck), so I’m excited for a campfire, s’mores, board game marathons, and sandy beaches.
Here’s what else I’m loving right now:
1. Work on your summer bucket list //As sad as it will be to say goodbye to the sunshine, the days of summer are limited. Now is the time to make the most of the longer days, so get outside and do one activity you’ve been meaning to do all season. I’m ticking two things of my summer ‘to do’ list this weekend.
2. Upgrade something ordinary // Once you try this jasmine toothpaste, it’s impossible to go back to drugstore versions – it works and tastes delicious (and doesn’t burn your tongue like ordinary minty toothpaste). I’m all about upgrading the boring products you use everyday, and this is one of my favourite small luxuries.
3. Add a dash of fun to your off-duty wardrobe // If, like me, you can never resist a French slogan, you’ll need to add this cute sweatshirt to your collection (see also: this adorable striped tee)
4. Say no to plastic // I loved this article my friend Grace shared on 8 ways to live a low-waste lifestyle. I was raised to be super environmentally-friendly, but this is something I’ve really been consciously aware of this year, and all these tips are so practical and achievable (would you be interested in a post on this?).
5. Pick up a new season accessory // I have always loved wearing headbands, so of course I’m thrilled that they’re back in a big way for Autumn. I’m taking my love of polka dots to the next level and bought this headband that I’ll be wearing with everything from party dresses to t-shirts, and also got this one which I’ll team with a berry lipstick to brighten up black outfits for the colder months.
6. Give your keys a home // I am a bit of an organisational nerd, so love a cute tray, dish, or bowl in every room to keep those small things you always need to hand organised. I love these gold metal dishes – I bought square one a for keys in my hallway, and two of the oblong versions for keeping the perfume and jewellery I use every day pretty but organised.
7. Visit the farmers market // Summer produce is at its very best right now, so pay a visit to your local market or produce store to pick up some juicy cherries, apricots and peaches, and a bunch of dahlias or hydrangeas to brighten your week ahead.
