I’m not quite sure where December has gone, but we are officially in peak festive season and I love it. I’ve now finished my shopping and have been happily writing cards, ordering the finishing touches for Christmas (we’re hosting!), and wrapping my gifts while working my way through all the holiday movies on Netflix.
If you’re still working through your gift list, consider this your guide to the perfect gifts for your BFF, sister, mother, niece, co-worker, and all the fabulous women in your life.
There’s a reason you won’t see any clothes on here – it’s notoriously tricky to buy clothes for an adult woman and get it right (with the exception being a beautiful set of pyjamas or a cashmere sweater – which if you get the right style and colour, are classics most women would love). The same applies for skincare, shoes, and anything that doesn’t sit with their tastes. But there are a few things you can’t go wrong with in my opinion. If I don’t know exactly what that person wants, I always like to buy them something more luxurious than they would normally splurge on themselves; it needn’t be especially large or expensive, but it should feel like a treat for them to have and use. Think a few beauty treats for the glamour girl, small accessories that you know will work with her style, or pretty much anything silk or cashmere (always a hit with the women in my family). I hope it gives you a few helpful ideas, but I’d love to know your favourite gifts to give and receive too!
For the one who’s impossible to shop for // a gorgeous scented candle, a set of silk pillowcases for the most luxurious sleep, a new lipstick in a universally-flattering shade of red or nude, a monogram necklace, a fancy hair mist, a pair of slippers that would make even her loungewear glamorous.
For your sister + soul sister // a chic beret for your favourite francophile, a pair of knockout earrings or a beautiful necklace that will go with her best party dress as well as her favourite old concert t-shirt, a giant snuggly scarf to make cold mornings more cheerful, a pair of celestial cushions to upgrade her sofa, a gorgeous makeup palette for the beauty lover.
For the woman who’s always there for you // a beautiful cashmere scarf or jumper in her favourite colour, a pretty new scent you know she’ll love, a classic purse with tickets to an exhibition tucked inside, a pair of crisp cotton pyjamas, a luxurious bath oil or body wash to last her all year, a chic pair of earrings.
For the girl on the go // a beautiful notebook or diary for her daily to-do lists + musings, a travel mug for her morning coffee, a really good book for her morning commute, a pair of cashmere socks + a silk eye mask to make the plane journey feel like first class, a new travel toiletries bag to make security screenings a breeze, or a passport case to keep her most prized possession safe.
Stocking fillers + small gifts under £25 // a pretty mug or a tongue-in-cheek book for your office secret santa, a chic pair of earrings that look more expensive than they are, a pair of fun socks to remind her of her favourite city, the cutest hair clip of velvet bow, a new notebook or stationery set to upgrade her desk, the perfect everyday pyjamas, the best lip balm.
For the little ones // a set of books to inspire big dreams, a cute set of headbands or hair clips, a makeup bag filled with a few treats for your favourite tween, a snuggly dressing gown or a pair of adorable slippers, a sweet toy to add to her little crew.
