In the Red

I should begin by pointing out that the rather cheesy title of this post does not, thankfully, refer to my current financial state (though with the shops filling with new season pieces I need want in my life, this is a very real risk…).

Rather, as some of you have already noticed, it refers to the fact that yes, yours truly appears in this month’s Red magazine – to be precise, in the ’20 Under 30′ feature as part of their annual Red Hot Women awards. This means I’ve had the enormous honour bestowed upon me of being named – along with fashion designers, olympic hopefuls, prima ballerinas & business gurus – as one of Britain’s top “women of the future”.

Well, considering I started this blog with the expectation that a total of five friends in Australia would read my frivolous ramblings, combined with the fact that I try to be as discreet as possible about my very-serious-day-job, you can imagine how this left me gobsmacked/flattered beyond belief/doing a happy dance in the corner. But given Red has a circulation bigger than Vogue and a reputation for championing brilliant, talented women in all fields, I am taking this as nothing short of a huge honour (enormously unflattering photo in the feature aside…).

An enormous ‘thank you’ to Sasha Wilkins of Liberty London Girl for the nomination, to the judges at Red for the huge vote of confidence, and to you – my unfailingly lovely and loyal readers. If I could give you all a big fat kiss on the cheek, I would.

Love, Miss B xx
